In some schools, preparation is focused on certain subjects, as in the National Mathematics and Science College, where students study who are passionate about the exact and natural sciences.Only British citizens can enter a public school and study there for free. Education in private schools is paid, and both local children and children from abroad can study there.Despite the fact that each year of studying in a private school is not cheap, many parents choose them. Some families keep the tradition of getting their secondary education in the same private school for generations.1.3. Grading systemMost schools in the United Kingdom use a letter grading system. Letters from A to U evaluate the level of knowledge, the quality of training. The letter is followed by a number - the second mark, which is given for diligence, where 1 indicates exceptional diligence, and 5 - the student's complete lack of any interest in learning.Below is a table illustrating letter grades in British schools and their approximate Russian equivalents.British school gradeRussian school gradeExplanationA*5+Outstanding ability, superb subject workA5Great job.
